Bought the new Surfer mag yesterday. Had a new 3D part fo the magazine. Pretty cool. Really creative to make something like that. I like the glasses that you get to wear.
Yankee's got rocked by the Red Sox yesterday! Woo hoo! 7-3. Alex Rodriguez had a shocker yesterday. 0-5 and all the New York fans boo-ing him.
This 9-year old kid is banned in his league from playing baseball. Why? Because he's too good. He can throw a 40-mph fastball accurately and the league banned him. Other parents are worried that he might hit somebody, but he hasn't yet! I think it's just other jealous parents ruining this kid's life. He can't help it that he's that good. The poor kid feels sorry and feels like he's ruining the other kids' games. Poor kid. |

Hawaii had a really good weekend as far as sports goes. Bryan Clay kicked butt in the Olympics and won himself a gold medal!
Kekoa "Broke Neck" Uemura won another JPSA. Man, I think he needs to start surfing switchstance. Maybe it'll give the other guys a chance.
And the story from Hawaii, the Little League Baseball team of WAIPIO won the Little League World Series!!! Japan got third and Mexico got 2nd. The entire island was watching this game! Hawaii has some much pride in it's sports and we support one another. It reminds me of Australia, because all the Australians are so supportive when it comes to sports.

I hate being injured. I'm the biggest grump when I'm injured. I wanna surf. I wanna train. I wanna do the Fukushima WQS... Anyway, I'll quit crying about it... Joy just won the comp in Waikiki. Man, she's having the best summer ever! Nice to be world champ! Good on ya, Joy!
Can't wait until the new DC movie , "Dude Cruise"comes out. It should be crazy! |

The France contest went off after a lay day due to storny surf. The waves look really good now. I hope Joel, Bam, TJ, and Dustin do good up there.
Yesco won the Bali SURF FOR THE KIDS contest. She's a legend in Japan and Peppen's wife. They're going to definitely have a pro surfer kid.
So... Yesterday, I was surfing and bottom turned and heard a POP in my ribs. I got off the wave and felt my ribs. It started to hurt when I paddled back out, so I turned around and went in. I went to the doctor and he said I popped the catilage off my ribs. It's like a broken rib, but not as serious. Nonetheless, I need to rest for a couple of weeks. You can SEE the rib being a little swollen. I think I'll recover very quickly. I'm super bummed because I felt really, really good and had good boards. I really like that wave in Fukushima too. I hope I can recover in a week and get back out there next week. Apparently, the BLACK pat of my rib and the white part seperated. It should be a speedy recovery. The doctor said about 4 weeks, but I'm thinking 2-3 weeks. If I feel better I'm going to Fukushima for sure! This is my job. This is what I train for. I just gotta suck it up.

Since I didn't update my blog there's lots of catching up to do. Got my car detailed the other day because Cori bought me a gift certificate. I almost didn't recognize the car! It's so clean now!!!
I HAD to put this picture up from the fashion show. Glad I didn't have to wear them outfits. But they made it look good.
Made some garlic chicken the other day from my Mom's recipe. It was super mean! It's prety much the first thing I've made besides oyster sauce saimin. Hehe...
Watched Kasey play flag football. Man, he's a true athlete. He can run faster, throw farther, and catch everyone better than anyone on his team. I may be a little biased but he's my little brother.
Grinded some uhu with Justin, Kanoe, Kekoa, Karissa,Cori, and my family. It was really, really good! Thanks Justin for catching it and Aunty Wanda for making it! I liked it!
Waipio won again! They play in the semifinals this Wednesday! I hope they win that one so they can make it to the championship!
I've been watching Jotei with Cori. She really got me hooked! We plan our Monday nights around it. Haha.. It's pretty interesting. |

Sorry, I've been having way too much fun in Hawaii surfing, golfing, and chillin' with my family. I forgot to update the blog. I'll get on it. Obama bodysurfing! That means he's a surfer. Smart, good guy, and being from Hawaii. I'm voting for him!
Joel killed it in France. He made it to the quarters in the 6-star there. He won every heat until the quarters. He needed a 5.44 and got a 5.0. So close... Still he only needs 3 more big results to get on the WCT!!!
Went golfing with Gregg Nakamura this weekend. He's suepr competitive and I love doing anything with the guy because you know there's going to be some bragging rights after. So, instead of taking a penalty, Gregg hits the ball from the bushes.
This ball was a little too deep in the bushes to hit. Hahaha...
Gregg still smiling despite the fact that I'm taking him out! Look at his parking job. Straight on the curb.
Here's my par 3 birdie attempt. Of course... I got a par. But a slash is fine with me.
Hahaha... I tried to talk Gregg into hitting it where it lied.
After swinging our golf clubs over 110 times. We played taboo with friends. It was so funny how competitive you can get at this game. I'm glad to say the boys beat the girls!!! |

Went surfing today at Lighthouse with Ronnie Yamada and Trav Ferarra. It was pretty fun for a quick one hour session. Looks like there are waves in France for the boys doing the 6-star. Check out this hollow one.

Sorry, I've been lagging the past week. The waves have been super fun and I've been just eating, sleeping, and surfing all day. Especially you, Wendall Kong. hahaha... Nah, just kidding. Come surf with me and Ripper Daniel one day. Check out these black noodles. Shibatz and Aiko took us out to this secret spot. Soooo good!!! I need to go back soon.

Parko's crazy double grab (on his inside rail) was amazing! I think it was pretty much the most progressive move in one of the best surf films ever!
Been surfing Diamond Head lately and it's been super rippable. Plenty of launch ramps. Too bad all the boys are working and on trips. Hehe... |

So, on the way back to Narita Airport on Monday, I stopped at Shinagawa train station and saw a COLD STONE! My favorite ice cream in the world! I wanted an ice cream so bad but I had to catch the train in 5 min and the line was too long... It's all good though.
Colt Brennan from UH played a really good game for the Redskins on Sunday. I think i may have a new favorite team. Go Colt!

We had the Murasaki Sports J:Com Cup today. It was super crowded and there were about 200 contestants. Although, it was super hot and small in the morning the strong onshore winds brought in shoulder high waves by the late afternoon and made for exciting action. Even Bonga Perkins stopped by. In my opinion, he's definitely one of the best surfers alive today and a living legend. And the fact that he's super, super cool and mellow makes him that much more of an icon. We were talking story for awhile. Good thing he was there because it was pretty boring just sitting there. You think your local beach is crowded? I think Shoonan might be the most crowded place in Japan! Knee high and 45 people out. haha...
This grom was so stoked to win. He won the open division and tons of prizes. He was smiling the whole time after that. Stoked to see that!

Takagi san (on the left) took really good care of me. He's such a nice guy and always takes care of the riders when they come into town. Thanks Takagi san.
Chu san and his right hand man Hideki. Chu san is the coolest. If you're not doing good, he'll tell you straight up... If you're ripping, he'll tell you straight up. He gets me fired up to do well. So, hopefully I can keep the ball rolling and win one. Thanks for all the support Chu san!

Bruce won the comp. First WCT win. Last year on tour. Fred got 2nd! CHEEEEE Hewwww!!!!
Dustin won the 6-star. He was the most in-form surfer of the comp. Ewa Beach representing! Cheee Hew!
Freddy P jumped into the top 16. This is only the beginning. He was KILLING it the whole comp. Good job bradda!
Jason Bay hit his first homer as a Red Sox and they won. Everything is going to be ALRIGHT!
Keito Matsuoka killed it all the way into the round of 24. I'm so stoked for him. He surfs so good and has had a shockker in contests the last year or so. He's got a bright future ahead of him. Keep it up, K8-O.
Manny sucked in his first appearance and they lost. HAHAHA!!!!

Everyone lost in the contest today so we all went to go eat a huge dinner and shoot fireworks. It was sooooo funny! My stomach was sore from laughing so hard. Joel and Bam got some battle scars. haha...

Manny is gone! He's the man, but he was acting like a spoiled brat and he isn't a team player so the Red Sox said Sayoonara. At first I was super bummed, but then I realized it's best for the team. And my Uncle Kurt told me that Jason Bay is pretty badass, so it'll be all good.
How's this spider! The things was half the size of my shoe!!! Big, hairy and scary.
Caught a Shinkansen to Fujisawa for the Murasaki Sports contest. It's super sick! Like an airplane but without the turbulance.
Watched Stranger than Fiction on the way there. Holy cow! This movie is ridiculous. You NEED to get it. I'd say craziest surfing, I've ever seen. Jordy and Dane are amazing!
