There was a shark attack in Hawaii the other day and they got a picture of it. Pretty big one! Glad the lady's ok.
The worst thing to see when you get off of a plane is a ding on your board. And I got one of those... I tried to fix it with some quick fix and it was ok. The board's still doing the job.. very well. Thanks Wes, the board works Mean!

Had a good first heat but couldn't find the waves in the next one. Can't cry over spilt milk though, I've just got to learn from it. I was a little bummed, but Batz, Moody, and Kekoa are still going, so it looks like I'm the cheerleader tomorrow. haha... Hope one of those guys win this thing.
When I first pulled up to our hotel, I saw something out of the corner of my eye and was tripping out... It was a goat! A random goat in the middle of nowhere. Bam named him BILL. Poor guy was stuck in his cage all day. |

Got it! Got lots of things these past few days and now I'm ready for trip. Finally got a deal on a new chain! Stoked.
Got the World Series of Poker 2008 from Ronnie Yamada. Going to borrow it on my trip but I'm pretty darn sure I'll be buying one so that it'll be home when I get home. haha...

And finally did a clean air reverse. Super stoked about that. I've been trying them for ages! But just because I did one, don't mean I can do them all the time. hahaha... Gotta go surf with Shibatz more and learn.

Oh man! Ok, how's this story... So, I've been surfing tons with my friend Ronnie Yamada this summer at Big Rights (like Ronnie would we'd want to surf anywhere else when it's good. haha...), and because it's always inconsistent, we sit and talk story. Since we both love poker I was convinced on buying the World Series of Poker 2008 game. So, after I bought my psp I went searching for it. I called 3 Game Stops, 2 Costco's, 2 Toys and Joys, 2 Kay Bee Toy Stores, 3 Walmarts, 2 Best Buys, and Sears. NO WHERE had it. Ok, so I go to order it online. I wait anxiously everyday hoping it comes so I can play it on the plane on my next trip. Well, 12 business days have passed since I ordered it and I leave on Friday to Japan. Nervous about it arriving on time, I called the online store and they said that for Hawaii, it would take 4 weeks to get there! 4 weeks! He said I won't get it until the end of the month. Ok, I was bummed... But today! I check the mail and wondered... what if. And look what came!!! My game. I was freaking out! I ran into the house all stoked and went to open it. The box looked a little different and when I finally took a good look at it, it was a Playstation 2 game. I have a PSP. Ahhhh... I ordered the wrong game!!!!! hahaha... I'm such a knuckle head!!! At least it makes for a funny story. So, if anyone knows anyone who wants to sell a PSP World Series of Poker 2008 game... Let me know! haha... |

Team Town and Country won the Surf Shop Challenge in Hawaii. Super stoked because two of the guys on the team are my really good friends. Trav Hashimoto and Kalei Umoto are going up to Cali to rip. Super stoked for them.
Here's Kalei. He rips and he's the nicest guy in the world. Stoked for him that he's going on a trip to do a contest. Hope they do good.

A boat got stuck on the reef at Padang and now there's oil, rubbish and debris everywhere. I'm glad everyone's trying to help out and clean it up. Got these photos yesterday from U-Suke. Stoked. The first two photos are from the heat I lost at Bowls.

I was super surfed out again yesterday because the waves have been so fun and I surfed so much. The waves were really good again today. I surfed with Trav and Gav Hashimoto, Dean Sumida, Gregg Nakamura and Gavin Hasegawa and Genki Kino were out too at Diamond Head. No wind, light variable and ultra rippable 3 ft. waves. So fun. Went to a wedding the other day. Mr and Mrs Ron Peterson. They're super in love. I think we won't be hearing from Ron forever now because his life is work and Leila and he doesn't have time for us. haha... Just kidding, Ron. The place where they had the wedding was super nice.
All the boys left but they got really good waves at Big Rights before they left. Miss surfing with those guys and trying to show them around. And Batz went to Cali but I'm meeting him in Japan. He just got 3rd. Dang... He's having a really good year. |

I"ve been super tired lately. I surfed the E-Series contest at Bowls and lost with twp 7's in my heat. I was a bit bummed because I thought I made that heat, but... Things happen for a reason. I paddled out to Big Rights with Ronnie, Glenn, and Cedric. The waves were super fun but got REALLY, REALLY good! Kirby, Hayato, Kazuya, Keisuke, and Keito ended up paddling out too. It was firing and Lance, U-Suke and my friend Wo-kun ended up shooting so I surfed for 5 hours!!! We got really good photos and video footage so it was almost worth it. Best day I think I might've surfed out there this year. Ronnie got some SICK barrels! I was taking them on the head and watching them. haha... Power slash... Not 12 o'clock but definitely throwing some rail down.
Slater won again... Man! I'm pretty sure he has it in the bag already. Good on him. I think next year will be exciting because you know he can't stop at 9, he'll want 10 World Titles.

My boy, Gareth Sugihara speared a HUGE Ulua this past weekend. He's a good diver. Man, if I went on a trip with him and Kirby, I'd be eating poke all day! And good poke too! haha...
My friend Tanna is having an event in Waikiki. If you're interested it's a wedding fashion show with a round trip ticket for two raffle! Check it out if you can.
Mark Healey seems to be recovering well after his gnarly leg injury. He scored HUGE Tavarua! Man... he's nuts.

Man, I remember these days. I used to do this too at the Waikiki Walls. Man, that was so much fun. I wouldn't care if it was flat or head high, I was stoked to be in the water.

The boys came into Hawaii earlier this week. I hope they have a good trip. It's sick to bring your friends into your hometown and try to show them a good time. I just wish the waves cooperated. I bet it'll get good when they leave.
ALL the JPSA guys were at Kewalo's the other day. It was such a funny scene to have all of us in one spot. Me, Batz, Keito, U-Suke, Kazuya, Kaito, Shuji, Kirby, and Yuko.
Woke up the last few days before the sun came up. So nice and calm. Glad to be home.
Lighthouse had a couple waves but you just had to wait. 7 of us paddled out and bummed everyone out. haha...

Just finished up going to the Line-Up Cup with Kinoshita san and Ishii san. The first night we stayed in a place known as a Kenkorando (meaning Healthy Land). It's heavy! Community showers, community rooms. It's like a homeless shelter. I didn't know it would be like that and I brought my bag so I had to hug my bag for the 4 hours we slept there. haha! Funny experience! I flew 8 hours, drove 4 hours to go to this promo. Going to drive 4 hours back, then fly 7 hours. I was in a car and plane longer than I was staying in one place in Japan. But it was for BLOW and those guys rock and they're my boys! The LINE-CUP contest got way, way bigger then when I went there 4 years ago. It was a huge amateur contest.
There were all the company booths for people to check out the product.
Ishii san is the coolest guy in the world and had to judge for the contest. Man, it must've been hard to sit there and judge guys in knee high waves for 8 hours.
The waves were super small but they took out a jetski for the expression session with the pro's. It was so fun. I wish I had photos from it. So sick! I wanna try it at home.
These are the pro's who took the time to come out and stoke the contestants out. Good on ya guys and girls.
I guess Hawaii followed me here. They even had a hula performance at the contest!
It was a pretty long and fun but tiring day. Kinoshita crashed out in the car.
One guy was so tired and drunk after the day was over that everyone took away all the tables and chairs and he didn't even wake up. He was out cold! haha...
I checked out the BLOW bar in Roppongi, from the outside (because it was closed). haha... But it's super sick! Members only. Check out the thumbprint entry device. Celebrities always come there to hang out and get away from the crowd.
I slept in an internet cafe. About $30 for the night. Way cheaper than a hotel but not as comfortable. But I was so tired I just needed to sleep. It's funny because a LOT of people did the same thing as me.
Got some sick BLOW trunks! Thanks boys!
Also got some sick G-Shock watches! A sick black one for the night out, a green one for the UH games, and the infamous sold-out n4mation watch! So stoked to get one!
Tokyo rain and clouds... Can't wait to go back to the blue skies in Hawaii.

The weather has been so nice. Super hot, the waves have been good, all my friends are home. Lots of fun. In fact, I'm so surfed out and tired from the all the swells the past 3 weeks. I was talking to Kirby Fukunaga yesterday and he said the same thing. Lucky to live in Hawaii.
Joel Centeio. Surfed all day the past couple days with Joel. He blows waves up and usually smiles all day but I guess he thinks he's all tough since he just got done with training. Haha...
Keito Matsuoka and Keisuke Imada came to hang in Hawaii. They're staying for 2 weeks! Hope they get fun waves. Stoked to have the boys here. |

Found this photo of my boy, Mike Dodd. His board broke but he's still surfing and ripping. That's what you do when you run out of boards and the waves are still going good. I can't wait to get good waves with this guy.
I surfed ALL DAY today again... Waves were super fun. Surfed with Ronnie and Joel at Big Rights then Shibatz and Joel at Kewalo's. Kaz came down to shoot but his camera was acting weird, then after he went in the waves got really fun and we were all having a good session.
Anyway, Ronnie and Joel started talking about a PSP so much that it made me want to buy it. I was fully thinking about it, but they talked me into it. |

今日もまた１日中サーフィンしたよ。。。波はすごい良かった。ロニーとジョエルとビッグライツでサーフィンしてそれからシバタとジョエルとケワロースでやったんだ。カズがフォトシュートにやってきたんだけど彼のカメラがなんだか調子悪かったみたい。彼が来てから波はすごく良くなってきて僕らはすごく良いセッションができたよ。
ロニーは、この前僕らがふざけていてビッグライツでセッションしていたときにジュンが編み出したマニューバーを目撃していたんだ。ココをクリックしてみて、すごく面白いよ。
